Operations Section Training

Overview

The Operations Section is where the work gets done.  The majority of the activities of the other sections is to ensure that those in Operations have the tools to meet incident objectives.  The Operations Section training will focus on how the Operations Section provides input, tracks implementation, and achieves the Objectives, Strategies, and Tactics identified in the Incident Action Plan.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the role/expectations of the Section/position
  • Identify the tasks associated with the Section/position
  • Demonstrate competency in expected job functions through participation in an exercise
  • Identify how to determine resource needs and how to relay to Logistics.
  • Recognize how to effectively use Span of Control and Unity of Command.
  • Determine how to track progress and report to Planning.
