Public Health

Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of people and their communities. This work is achieved by promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and detecting, preventing and responding to infectious diseases.  Public health often intersects with the medical/healthcare system, behavioral health, and environmental health.  The function of public health is to Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues. Mobilize community partnerships and action to identify and solve health problems and develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts.

Global Vision Consortium partners have real world experience in public health, with a focus on infectious diseases and emergency management.  From H1N1, Ebola, Zika, measles, and many other infectious diseases, GVC has been there and can help you prepare, respond, and recover from public health emergencies, by writing policies and procedures, plans, and conducting exercises; assistance with staffing Emergency Operations Centers, and providing other support to state and local public health departments and their partners.
